How to choose your Barbour jacket size
Partager
Ordering a Barbour jacket online often raises the same question: which size? Good news, Barbour's logic is simple. Here is how to find your way.
One size chart: chest measurement
Barbour sizes its men's jackets by chest measurement, taken on the body. The chart is the same for every jacket, whatever the sleeve style:
| Size | Chest (cm) | Size in inches |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 86 – 91 | 34 – 36 |
| S | 91 – 96 | 36 – 38 |
| M | 96 – 102 | 38 – 40 |
| L | 102 – 107 | 40 – 42 |
| XL | 107 – 112 | 42 – 44 |
| 2XL | 112 – 117 | 44 – 46 |
To measure your chest, run a tape measure under your arms around the widest part of your chest, without pulling tight.
The Bedale: sizes in inches
The Bedale comes in numbered sizes that match the chest measurement in inches: 36 = XS, 38 = S, 40 = M, 42 = L, 44 = XL. If you wear a medium, take the Bedale in 40.
Raglan sleeves: room in the shoulders
All our Barbour waxed cotton jackets have raglan sleeves: the seam runs diagonally from the collar to the underarm instead of dropping straight from the shoulder. This cut leaves room in the shoulders and arms. That is the case for the Bedale, the Tracker, the Ashby and the Spey.
The result: take your usual size. A thick shirt or a fine sweater fits underneath easily.
Other Barbour jackets
The Marltown and the Re-Engineered fit true to size: your usual size is the right one there too.
In short
- Measure your chest and check the chart above.
- For the Bedale, convert: M = 40, L = 42, and so on.
- Raglan sleeves: keep your usual size.
- Every product page shows a size guide (France, Italy, UK, US) and fit advice.
